Description

Verse is an emotionally detached and standoffish (former) pirate trying to get by in a dying world torn asunder by war. His mind shot full of holes, Verse can’t even remember how old he is. His only solace is escaping into dreams where he’s a beautiful woman with an older sister, who shields her from the cruelty of the outside world.

When the oceans die around their ship, Verse and his partner-in-crime Xan make their way inland, hoping to find a path back to their life of crime and big paydays. Along the way, they find themselves pursued, and sucked into a world-spanning holy war rife with super weapons, powerful magic and ancient gods.

All the while, the holes in Verse’s memory seem to be disappearing, and he’s beginning to realize that even his dreams may not be safe anymore. There’s something locked up inside Verse, and it may just be a monster.
